Maedeh Bazargan is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) who has spent more than 10 years working with children, adolescents, and families. One of the things she values most about this work is being able to support children while they are still learning about themselves, their emotions, and the world around them. She believes children shouldn’t have to make sense of difficult feelings on their own—and that having the right support early in life can make a meaningful difference, not only in how they feel today, but in the confidence, resilience, and emotional well-being they carry with them as they grow.

Maedeh has a background in Psychology, a Master’s degree in Family Therapy, and is currently completing her second Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education at UBC. Bringing psychology and education together helps her see the whole child—not only their emotions and relationships, but also how they grow, learn, communicate, play, and connect with the people around them.

Much of Maedeh’s work is centred around play therapy, attachment, and children’s emotional well-being. She draws from Child-Centred Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and attachment-based approaches. Children don’t always have the words to tell us what feels scary, confusing, or overwhelming. Through therapeutic play and connection, Maedeh helps them make sense of those feelings, express what may be difficult to say, build self-esteem, and find healthier ways to cope with big emotions and experiences.

Maedeh supports children and adolescents experiencing anxiety, emotional outbursts, low self-esteem, ADHD, autism, behavioural and social difficulties, attachment concerns, and challenges with relationships and life transitions. Rather than seeing a difficult behaviour as simply something that needs to be changed, she is curious about what may be happening underneath it—what a child might be feeling, needing, or trying to communicate.

Parents and caregivers are an important part of this journey too. Maedeh works alongside families to help them understand their child more deeply, feel more confident through challenging moments, and build a stronger and more connected relationship with their child.

Maedeh offers counselling in both English and Farsi.

Stephanie became a counsellor after years working as a respiratory therapist, where she witnessed people facing difficult, stressful, and sometimes traumatic experiences. This work showed her how deeply challenging circumstances can affect a person’s life and inspired her to help people not just cope, but process, grow, and feel more grounded in their everyday lives. She works with adults navigating anxiety, burnout, relationship challenges, or patterns that no longer serve them. In sessions, Stephanie offers a warm, supportive space where clients can slow down, feel heard, and explore what matters most. She believes clients are the experts in their own lives, guiding the pace and focus of therapy, while she helps them understand how stress, emotions, and past experiences shape what’s happening now. Stephanie is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and draws from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, emotion-focused, and narrative work. Her style is collaborative, strengths-based, and curious — she values ongoing learning and helps clients build insight while gaining practical tools to move forward.

Jackie is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology. She has a deep passion for helping people heal, grow, and break through the barriers that keep them feeling stuck. Her professional journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Kinetics, followed by a career as a trainer and holistic nutritionist. Through years of supporting clients with their physical health, Jackie came to recognize that meaningful and lasting change—regardless of the area of life—often stems from addressing the mental and emotional patterns beneath the surface. This insight led her to pursue work as a life and intuitive coach, and ultimately transition into counselling, where she believes she can make the most meaningful impact with individuals and couples.

Jackie’s approach is primarily person-centred, honoring each client as the expert of their own life. Her role is to facilitate, guide, and collaborate with you in a way that feels empowering and supportive as you work toward your goals. She uses an integrative therapeutic approach, drawing from evidence-based and holistic modalities tailored to each client’s unique needs. The therapeutic frameworks she most often incorporates include Internal Family Systems (IFS) and parts work, somatic and mindfulness-based approaches, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Jackie is also trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Level 1) and is currently completing her training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).

Through her own personal journey in health and wellness, Jackie has explored and embraced alternative and complementary healing practices such as mindfulness, yoga, and breathwork. She believes that true healing requires attending to the whole person—not just symptoms or surface-level experiences. This passion for holistic healing led her to become a partner at Ritual Urban Retreat in Vancouver, where individuals can engage in deeper, transformative healing practices.

Jackie strives to create a safe, non-judgmental, and welcoming space where clients feel comfortable showing up fully as themselves. Her approach is caring, genuine, and compassionate, while gently supporting clients in healing, self-discovery, and deeper connection with themselves. Outside of the counselling office, Jackie enjoys spending time with her family and raising her four-year-old son on the North Shore. She has a love for food and cooking, and being adventurous through hobbies such as hiking, kayaking, travelling, scuba diving and skiing.
